About the clinic
PolyCan Health Centre will be one of the anchor tenants in the new commercial, office and residential building at 9055 University High Street. The approximately 1,850 square metre (approximately 20,000 square feet) PolyCan Health Centre will include the services of physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and acupuncturists. Patients will have access to specialties in family health care & walk-in care, women’s health, surgical daycare, plastic surgery, sports medicine, ophthalmology, chiropractic, rehabilitation, acupuncture, pain management, preventative care and medical diagnostic imaging services. It will be equipped for basic surgical procedures and with transfer capacity for those in need of advanced acute care. Early negotiations are also underway with SFU, Pacific Academic Institute of Chiropractic (PAIC), BCIT, and Fortius Sport & Health about using the facility for teaching and research.
Our patients will have access to a team based care network providing a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to their choices in health care services.
Our family doctors, physicians, surgeons, registered nurses, medical technicians and medical staff will be experts in their field bringing together a strong and knowledgeable team of expertise in order to provide dedicated, compassionate and world class quality care to patients on their terms.
PolyCan Health Centre will be the only multidisciplinary public clinic in the City of Burnaby and just the fifth in Metro Vancouver. In addition to providing the first publicly available, on-mountain health care to a growing residential community with a current population of over 5,000 residents, PolyCan Health Centre will also serve a population of more than 50,000 including students, faculty and staff at the adjacent campuses of Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Fraser International College. The clinic is further expected to attract patients from off mountain because there is no comparable service within a 10-kilometre radius.
Our vision is to become a world-class, trusted health care facility serving our patients and our community.
Our mission is to provide a safe and professional health care environment staffed by fully-trained and highly qualified health care practitioners that are focused on patients. PolyCan Health Centre strives to be a patient choice first health care centre.
